Student Induction Programme engages with the new students as soon as they come into the institution; before regular classes start. At the start of the induction, the incumbents learn about the institutional policies, processes, practices, culture and values, and their mentor groups are formed. The Induction Program is designed to make the newly joined students feel comfortable, sensitize them towards exploring their academic interests and activities, reducing competition and inspire them work for excellence, promote bonding within them and to build relations between teachers and students.

Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), One Week Student Induction Programme, was organised by SSDWIT Bathinda aimed to acclimate new students to campus environment,foster a sense of community and provide essential information for their academic journey. The induction programme consisted of activities like havan ceremony, campus orientation, meditation and yoga session,expert lectures on human values and self exploration , ice breaking and feedback session and potluck. Day one, commenced with traditional Havan ceremony to seek blessings for a prosperous and successful year ahead and fostering a sense of positivity and unity among college community. On 2nd day the induction programme commenced with a warm welcome speech by the principal, Dr. Neeru Garg followed by introduction to the faculty members. The objective of this programme was to familiarize the students to new environment and building a sense of community among new students. Day 3rd dedicated to sessions on mental health and physical well-being. The session was led by Ms. Nisha Singla, a certified yoga instructor with a purpose to introduce students to the practice of yoga and meditation in their daily life. On the 4th day, an expert lecture on human values with topic on ”how to become happy in life” was organized with the aim to provide insights into the importance of human values in personal and professional life by Dr.Mandeep Kaur (Asst. Prof. Mech. Engg, MRSPTU Bathinda). On day 5th Institute hosted an insightful and engaging lecture on self exploration with the aim of fostering personal growth and self awareness among students. Dr.Ved Parkash (Asst. Prof. MRSPTU) delivered an inspiring talk on the importance of understanding oneself. On 6th day , an Ice-breaking and Potluck session was organized to encourage interaction and communication among new students . Students performed various activities such as singing, dancing, shared their memorable moments. All this made the session interactive and allowed students to learn more about each other. In Potluck session students shared and enjoyed a variety of homemade dishes. The SIP was concluded by feedback session where students share their experiences and give their feedback about the programme. The session was very interactive. The final day provided an opportunity for students to reflect their experiences . Feedback was collected to enhance future induction programmes. The programme concluded with a motivational speech at the closing ceremony by Dr.Neeru Garg, leaving students inspired and ready to embark on their academic journey & encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities for a well-rounded experience. SIP was started with the orientation program for fresher students. Dr. Neeru Garg welcomed all the students and introduced all the faculty members. The objective of this programme was to familiarise the students to new environment and get them accustomed to the culture of the college.
On the 2nd day of SIP, an Ice-breaking session was organised to introduce new students to each other. The event aimed to create a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to connect, communicate with each other. Students perform various activities such as singing, poetry, shares their memorable moments. All this made the session interactive and allowed students to learn more about each other.
On the 3rd day, a guest lecture on personal hygiene was organised to create awareness regarding hygiene practices and healthy lifestyle. Resource person was Ms. Geetanjali sharma who shared various aspects of personal hygiene.
On the 4th day , was started with a session by Ms. Ashu . This session was very useful for the students as she discussed the importance of Yoga ,Meditation to release stress. Students learned how to instill positive vibes
and value in their lives.
On day 5th, Institute had the privilege of hosting a thought-provoking lecture by representatives of the Brahma Kumaris organization Sister Khushboo and Sister Shivani. The lecture was aimed to inspire students to embrace positivity, mindfulness, and inner peace in their lives. The renowned speakers from Brahma Kumaris shared profound insights into the philosophy of positive thinking and its transformative effects on one’s mindset. They emphasized the importance of cultivating a positive attitude, managing stress, and fostering harmonious relationships. The students actively engaged in the session, demonstrating their eagerness to learn and embrace meditation as a valuable life skill.
Principal Dr. Neeru Garg expressed her gratitude to the Brahma Kumaris organization for their valuable contribution She highlighted that the lecture aligns with Institute’s mission to nurture not only academic excellence but also emotional well-being among students.
The session was ended with an interactive queries, where students had the opportunity to seek advice and clarification on various aspects of positive living and got spiritual growth.
The SIP was concluded by feedback session where students share their experiences and give their feedback about the programme.

The induction programme consisted of various interesting activities like campus orientation, expert lectures, a visit to an old age home, and a motivational documentary screening.
SIP was started with the orientation program for fresher students. Dr. Neeru Garg welcomed all the students and introduced all the faculty members. The objective of this programme was to familiarise the students to new environment and get them accustomed to the culture of the college.
On the second day, a special talk on Universal Human Values by Dr. Aruna Gupta was organised for students. The main motive of this session was to nurture students to live lives of mutual happiness with human beings and mutual prosperity with the rest of Nature along with the development of technical and managerial competence.
Third Day, students visited an old age home. Students spent their unforgettable time with them and clicked pictures with them, distributed some food kits, and had an amazing time by singing. It was an insightful experience.
On the fourth day, a motivational documentary on human values was shown to students for the purpose of making them to understand concept of happiness and significance of values in their lives.
Day Fifth, was started with a session on Art of living by Ms. Surinder Kaur Monga. This session was very useful for the students as she discussed the importance of Yoga ,Meditation to release stress. Students learned how to instil positive vibes and values in their lives.
On the Sixth Day, Mr. Naveen Goyal (executive member of SMILE, NGO) discussed how NGO engaged in educating slum children and bringing them back to school. They helped around 300 children get an education at government and private schools. At the end of this session, many students show their interest in working as NGO volunteers.
On the Seventh Day i.e the last day of the induction program, a valedictory session was organised .The session started with a motivational speech by Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal). Students shared their experiences during this one week programme. Potluck activity was done by Students in which they made their favourite dishes at home and shared them with other students. This showed the bonding relationship between them. The session was ended by distribution of certificates.
