Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) NSS and RRC unit of SSDWIT observed the “World AIDS Day” on 1/12/21 by conducting a Guest lecture to raise the awareness about HIV/AIDS. Dr. Monika Bansal (NSS Programme Officer) formally welcomed the Resource Person, Principal, Faculty Members and all the Volunteers. Dr. Shilpa Arora (Director, Saiishaz Aesthetic Institute) and Dr. Harman Loona (Managing Director, Saiishaz Aesthetic Institute) were invited as the resource persons. Dr. Shilpa Arora discussed about the oral hygiene, Dental care and importance of scaling. She also talked about the sexually transmitted diseases caused by the bacteria, viruses or parasites and how to prevent this disease. Dr. Harman Loona who is specialist in Dermatology explained the importance of routine skincare and how acne occurs on the skin due to the pore clogging, unhealthy diet, pollution and stress in our life and how we can get rid of all of these problems by changing the bad habits of our daily lifestyle. Post lecture query session witnessed students’ active participation and got all their queries answered by the resource person. A Poster Making competition was also organised on the “HIV/AIDS” theme. The purpose of conducting this competition was to spread awareness about how HIV infection is caused and how it can be prevented and cured. All the Volunteers participated in this program with great enthusiasm. The first prize was secured by Kirti from BCA-2 and Sneha from BCA-2 got the second prize and Richa Mishra from BCA-3 got the third prize in this competition. Dr. Neeru Garg gave away the attractive prizes and certificates to the participants who achieve positions in this event. Financial Literacy Club of S. S. D. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, BATHINDA conducted a national webinar on STRATEGY FOR MANAGING PERSONAL FINANCE. This webinar was organised to celebrate the world investor week. It was organised in ASSOCIATION OF MUTUAL FUNDS IN INDIA. ADV. SANJAY GOYAL (PRESIDENT, SSDGGC) was the chief guest and Sh. Vikas Garg (Secretary, SSDWIT) was guest of honour for this webinar. Dr. Neeru Garg welcomed and introduced the keynote speaker, Shri Suryakant Sharma, (Senior Consultant AMFI & Former DGM SEBI) and Mr. Sabzar Ahmad, Coordinator AMFI. A message from MR. AJAY TYAGI (Chairman SEBI) and Mr. Tajinder Singh, Deputy Secretary General (International Organisation of Securities Commission(IOSCO) was played to wish the world investor week. Keynote speaker emphasised the importance of investment in this dire need of time and financial planning for the future contingencies. Concepts of real money, inflation, risk and return, health insurance, life insurance, risk appetite, compounding, financial goals and retirement planning were discussed in depth. He also gave an insight into investment Mantra i.e. to save early, regularly and start investing in adequate amount. This webinar was appreciated by all the participants as it was enriched with great knowledge about the personal finance management. Ms. Preetima ( Webinar Co-convener & Coordinator FLC) conducted the query session. Experts resolved all the doubts raised by participants. Dr. Vijay Laxmi ( Webinar Convener & coordinator FLC) virtually hosted the whole program and presented formal vote of thanks for the valuable inputs delivered by speakers of this webinar. Overwhelming response was received from participants of various colleges and different states. More than 400 participants, across the states joined this webinar virtually by Zoom platform and youtube live streaming. Dr. Neeru Garg expressed her gratitude towards the college management for the support and encouragement to attend such an enriching sessions. Worthy management of SSDWIT appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neeru Garg and financial literacy club coordinators and urged to conduct more such events in future.
On 23rd November, 2021 students of management department visited Bathinda Chemicals Limited. BCL is one of the renowned food oil manufacturing unit in the Malwa region. All the students along with Dr. Kirti Singh and Dr. Shaveta visited the unit under the guidance of Col. M.S. Gaur (Vice President), Mr. Tejinder Bhullar (PRO), Mr. Vijay Rathi (GM, Production), Mr. Deepak Tayal (Additional GM Technical) and Mr. Rajnish Kumar (Head, Quality Control Deptt.). The purpose behind this visit was to make students aware regarding production process of refined oil and vanaspati oil. They visited rice mill, seeds godown, boiler unit, refining unit, packaging unit and chemical testing laboratory also. The unit has oil mills, solvent extraction plants, rice sheller, chemical refinery, physical refinery and vanaspati plant. These plants have modern technology of manufacturing Cardiac oil. They also enhanced their knowledge by clarifying about maintenance of machines, break downs, different varieties of oil produced by BCL and inventory management system. This visit was conducted under the guidance of Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDWIT), Sh.Vikas Garg (Secretary, SSDWIT) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT).They appreciated the efforts of technical skill committee coordinators Ms. Neetu Goyal, Dr. Kirti Singh, Dr.Vijay Laxmi, Dr. Shaveta for organizing such practical knowledge based visit.
SSDWIT organized STAR NIGHT dedicated to ‘WIT FEST’21’ at its campus on 30th Oct., 2021 (Saturday evening). Sh. Ajay Maluja, IPS (SSP, Bathinda) graced the STAR NIGHT with his presence as Chief Guest. The program was started by lamp lightening ceremony. “JAGGO” followed by Punjabi GIDDHA was the welcome performance. Star of the evening was Mr. Davinder Pal (Indian Idol) who gave outstanding performance and enthrilled the audience on the song “Hanjuaa da Dariya”. Everyone grooved to the beats of PRO BEAT GROUP. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) thanked all the dignitaries for their presence and appreciated all the organizers and students who were working round the clock for several weeks to make the event a grand success. SSDWIT organized an Inter College Competition ‘WIT FEST’21’ at its campus on 30th Oct., 2021. This competition started with full swing and was graced by the arrival of Sh. Tarsem Mangla (District and Sessions Judge, Fazilka) as a Chief Guest and Mr Gautam Singal (SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur) as a Guest of Honor. CA Sh. Parmod Mittal (President, SSD Sabha), Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSD WIT) welcomed the esteemed Chief Guest. This competition comprised of 6 On Stage events and 11 Off Stage events. Near about 14 colleges of Malwa region participated in this gala fest. The program was started by lamp lightening ceremony followed by various On-Stage Events. The events like Corporate Fashion Show, Bollywood Hungama, Mirror Dance, Rock ‘n’ Roll, R J hunt, Stand Up comedy, caught the attention of the audience. HOBBY PLANET remained the center of attraction for all. Visitors and Students enjoyed a lot in hobby hut that contained various food stalls, an exhibition, Music world and fun games. A OLD WOOD SQUARE (Village Theme with Selfie station) with many attractive Props was set up to captivate the visitors. Participants showed great interest in various Off-Stage events like stone Painting, Newspaper Dress Dior, Clay Modelling, Hand Made Jewelry, Vegetable Carving, Tattoo Making, Plastic Bottle Decore, Sketching, Face Painting, Mandala Art, Macrame Art. Through Lucky Draw (WIT FEST BONANZA) many attractive prizes were given. Students updated the audience about reflection of past year events and activities through SSDWIT NEWS. The Chief Guest gave away prizes to all the winners and in his address he praised and motivated them to participate in the cultural and other extracurricular activities in future too. Principal Dr. Neeru Garg congratulated all the position achievers and advised them to work with passion for success in life.
On 26th September 2021, an enthralling fresher’s party “FARASHA” was organised in SSDWIT Bathinda to welcome the new entrants. The event started with lamp lightening by esteemed management members along with other dignitaries and then followed by cake cutting ceremony. Dr. Neeru Garg(Principal, SSDWIT)addressed and welcomed the students and urged to have amicable relationship with new and old students. The students from different classes showcased their talent by singing and dance performance. Sh. Sanjay Goyal(President, SSDGGC)gave blessings to the fresher students. All the events were artistically and beautifully presented in vibrant colours. Ramp walk by new entrants was the main attraction of the day. Mrs. Kiran Goyal, Mrs.Vaneeta Mittal, Mrs. Poonam Arora and Dr. Anu Malhotra judged the different modelling rounds. Ms. Deepti selected as Ms. FARASHA,Ms. Supreet as 1st RUNNER UP, Ms. Priya as 2nd RUNNER UP, Ms. Sampreet as Ms. FRIBBLE and Ms. Janvi as Ms. GLAMOROUS.

INTER –COLLEGE QUIZ COMPETITION
To embark the 75th year of India’s Independence “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” an Inter-College Quiz Competition was organized in association with All India Radio Bathinda in which students from 11 different colleges of bathinda participated with great enthusiasm. This much awaited event was held on 18 September 2021.The quiz master was Mr. Rajiv Arora (Station Director, AIR FM BTI) and RJ Ms. Ritu Nanda. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) formally welcomed the guests. Advocate Sanjay Goyal (President SSDGGC) graced the event as a Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot (Director Sports and youth welfare, MRSPTU) as a Guest of honour. The Programme commenced with ceremonial lamp-lightening by all the dignitaries. The quiz comprises of 5 rounds. All rounds lifted the level of interest of not only the participants but also the audience. There were many questions for the audience also and this added to the fun in the contest. The Students not only gained knowledge but also enjoyed answering the varied questions that were compiled for them. RJ Mr. Loveleen Sachdeva conducted the stage. 1st position bagged by Khusboo Goyal and Akanksha Goyal of SSD Girls’ College and 2nd position bagged by Avinash Kumar and Sunidhi Garg of Baba Farid College. Vote of thanks was proposed by Sh. Rajiv Arora. The program culminated with the recitation of National Anthem. Sh. Parmod Maheswari (Vice-President, SSDGC), Sh. A special synergetic session on “Role of Media in Education Sector” was organised by SSDWIT, Bathinda on 4th September 2021. Arora(Station Director, AIR FM BTI), Mr. Gurprem Lehri ( Chief Reporter cum District Head BTI/ Mansa Dainik Jagran), Mr. Vishal Joshi (Head South Malwa Bureau Hindustan Times), Dr. Dinesh Bassi (Journalist, Dainik Bhaskar BTI), Prof. N.K. Gosain (Educationist).

They stressed upon the importance of media that provide necessary basis for gradual and supplementary learning. During the session, emphasis was laid on media literacy. The resource persons gave real and actual experiences to students and motivate them to develop the habit of reading newspaper on daily basis. Lecture was enriched with great knowledge. The speakers handled the query session round. It was really an interactive session. All the students participated enthusiastically. A competition on self composed poetry, essay writing, story writing, letter writing was organised by Shri Sanatan Dharma Education Board Chandigarh in July, 2021. Different schools and colleges running under the aegis of SSD Sabha participated in this competition. The eight students took part in this. Muskaan, Shivani, Neetu, Pooja Sharma, Arti Bhandari and Kirandeep Kaur secured different positions. Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC), Sh. Prof. in Mgt.) has completed her Ph.D degree on 12th July, 2021 from I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Kapurthala, Jalandhar. One of our student Shubhpreet kaur(MCA 3), participated in this competition and bagged 2nd position in Bathinda zone. Under the guidance and astute supervision of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), NSS and RRC unit of SSDWIT Bathinda has taken part in the nation wide celebration of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence , “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” under the aegis of “Fit India Movement” by conducting a guest lecture on the topic ” Young Girls’ Health Issues in Current Scenerio” on 18th August 2021. Dr. Shivani Goel (MBBS, MD Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from Civil hospital was invited as the resource person . The aim of this guest lecture was to deal with the health issues that the young girls’ are having these days. Girls are facing a variety of medical problems like cramping, fatigue, having premenstrual syndrome at a very early age, PCOD/PCOS or having an hormonal imbalance contributing to an abnormal menstrual cycle. Dr. Goel discussed various precautionary measures to deal with these issues and suggested the ways to control them by adopting a good Lifestyle including healthy & balanced diet, regular exercise and managing stress in our lives .The lecture was appreciated by all the students as it was enriched with great knowledge about health related issues. The Expert resolved all the raised queries effectively. At the end of the session Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) honoured Dr. Shivani Goel for sharing her precious knowledge and also motivated the young girls of the institute to follow the guidelines given by the resource person. Students participated enthusiastically in punjabaan attire in various folk songs, group dances and Miss Teej competition.Ms. Hasanpreet Kaur from SSDWIT was honoured as Miss Teej. Judgement was done by Ms Kiran Goyal,Mrs Vineeta Mittal and Mrs Vimal Bansal.
Under the guidance of Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDWIT), two week (11.01.2021-23.01.2021) Professional Training Programme was organised by Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) on “ Full Stack Web Development” for the faculty of Computer Science Department. The main motive for organising this workshop was to enhance the technical skills of faculty and updating them regarding fast changing technology. Resource Person of this workshop was Mr. Rajesh Bansal. This workshop emphasized main thrust areas like HTML, CSS, Java Script and also high level technologies such as JAVA, PHP, AJAX, JSON etc. All the Sessions were informative & teachers participated in each session with great enthusiasm.
SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda celebrated National Voter’s Day on 25th Jan, 2021. A motivational speech was presented by NSS volunteer Arti Bhandari on Voter’s Day to create awareness all the students regarding casting of the vote to the right person.
Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of S.S.D.WIT Bathinda observed World Cancer Day on 4th Feb, 2021 to educate the students related to this disease. The club organized various activities such as Poster making and Slogan Writing with the aim to create awareness among the students about Cancer and to unite everyone in the fight against Cancer. All the volunteers participated enthusiastically in all the activities. It was overwhelming to see the level of creativity in the participants.

This year SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges celebrated Basant Panchmi festival on 12th February 2021. Students participated enthusiastically in various activities such as Balloon decoration, Kite decoration, Kite flying, Dancing and Singing enjoyed endlessly. On 20th Feb 2021, a Fresher-cum-Farewell party ‘Welcome to adieu’ was organized by S.S.D.WIT Bathinda. The event was inaugurated by Dignitaries by Lighting of Lamp. The party was started with traditional Aashirwaad and Cake cutting ceremony. Heart throbbing dances, Comedy, Fun games, tambola and cultural performance of students made the atmosphere extremely energetic. Selfie station was the special attraction. Students decorated the venue in a very creative & innovative way. Principal Dr. Neeru Garg welcomed all the fresher and dignitaries for their presence after a long period of covid 19 pandemic.
Freshers & outgoing students did modeling with great enthusiasm and on the basis of different rounds they were given various titles. Ms Karanveer Kaur won the title of Miss. Fresher, Ms. Ritvika (MCA-I) was 1st Fresher’s Runner up, Ms. Isha was 2nd Fresher’s Runner Up. Ms.Ranchi won the title of Miss. Farewell, Ms. Kiran was 1st Farewell Runner up, Ms.Muskaan was 2nd Farewell Runner Up. Ms.Priyanka(MCA-I) was adjudged as Miss Elegance, Ms.Hasanpreet was adjudged as Miss Fresh smile and Ms. Mehak (MCA-I) and Gagan (MCA-I) got Consolation prizes.
The Principal Dr. Neeru Garg motivated the students to lead life of righteousness and hard work and practice honesty in all dealing of life. The College President Advocate Sh. Sanjay Goyal ji started his speech by thanking god that we all survived after crisis of Covid 19 and appreciated efforts of teachers during covid 19. He blessed and inspired students to empower themselves and reach at the pinnacle of success.
It was a day of mixed feeling for SSDWIT, as Freshers looked excited after receiving a grand welcome by their senior while the final year students got emotional on the Last bash of their college.
An expert talk was delivered on “Impact of Macro- Economic Indicators” by Mr. Akhil Mittal (Sr. Fund Manager-Debt) at Tata Asset Management Co. Ltd., Mumbai. He joined Tata Mutual Fund in 2014. He manages an AuM of Rs. 4,102 invested in 18 schemes including Tata Treasury Advantage, Tata Treasury Balanced Advantage Fund. He explained the impact of various economic indicators i.e. inflation, monetary policy, interest rates, currency , events and policies in a very lucid manner. This lecture was enriched with great knowledge .Talk was followed by query session. Speaker resolved all the queries raised by participants. It was an interactive session. Dr. Neeru Garg(Principal, SSDWIT) presented a memento to Mr. Akhil Mittal.
Guest lecture was conducted on 8/3/2021 on Contemporary Issues and Challenges in HR for the students of MBA . This event was organised under the kind control of Dr. Neeru Garg ( Principal, SSDWIT). Dr. Meenu Singla (Assistant Professor ) in Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management was the resource person for this lecture. Stating the significance of Human resources as greatest strength of any organisation the concept, challenges and issues associated with human resources were discussed with examples and case studies. All the students participated enthusiastically throughout the session. Lecture enriched with great knowledge was followed by query session. All the queries were resolved by speaker.
NSS and Red Ribbon Club of SSDWIT Bathinda organised an enthusiastic 4 Days Self Defense Training Programme for its girl students on the occasion of International Women’s Day started from 8th March, 2021. The guest trainers were Mr. S. P. Shukla, NIS Coach and International Referee of Taekwondo, Mr. Hunardeep Singh (National Gold Medalist) and Mr. Vijay Kumar (National Referee). The training programme was organized under the guidance of Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President of the college) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) with the motive to uplift the girls to walk unafraid with courage and to empower them both mentally and physically. Mr. Shukla and his team demonstrated them various Self Defense techniques that could be implemented by girls without formal training in martial arts. As the crimes against women are rising day by day, these techniques might come in handy for the students in future to protect themselves. More than 40 students participated in this training programme.
With the great response of students, the programme was concluded by Ms. Monika Bansal (Programme Officer, NSS) and Ms. Navdeep Kaur (Nodal Officer, RRC) by highlighting important points of the training programme. The participants had learnt various new techniques of self defense.
Under the supervision of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), NSS & RRC unit of SSD WIT, Bathinda organized a campaign on Poshan Pakhwara from 15th March to 1st April, 2021. Under this campaign, various activities such as cooking competition, guest lecture and workshop on yoga etc. were conducted for all the students. The aim of the campaign was to make awareness among students on promoting health, eating healthy food, preventing diseases and maintaining or losing weight.
On first day, an online competition on the topic of “Healthy and Nutritious Food” was organized. Students prepared varieties of dishes and well presented their recipes with the nutritional value. Sukriti got first prize, Arti Bhandari and Richa got second prize, Tisha got third prize and Kirti and Riya got consolation prize.
On second day, an expert talk on the topic “Importance of Ayurveda, Panchkarma, Naturopathy and Yoga” was conducted by Dr. Poonam Grover (BAMS in Ayurvedacharya) through online mode. She is an expert in Ayurveda, Panchkarma, Naturopathy and Yoga.
On third day, Ms. Neha Bhandari (Asst.Prof. in Home Science, SSDGC) delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Build Healthy Eating Habits”through online mode. About 100 students and staff members participated in all the activities with full enthusiasm.
While concluding the campaign, Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) addressed all the students and encouraged them to inculcate the habit of eating healthy and nutritious diet and avoiding junk food in their routine.

SSDWIT Bathinda organised a webinar on 19 May 2021 in collaboration with Central Depository services Limited and Bombay Stock Exchange on the basics of capital market. Under the guidance and astute supervision of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT), it was organised by department of management. Ms. Vijay laxmi (Convener of the webinar, Asst.Prof.in Mgt.) welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Patron, Worthy management members, speakers of the webinar , Principal , faculty members and Participants. Mr. Harbinder Singh Sokhi, Manager- BSE IPF, Mr. Inderjeet Singh Regional Head – CDSL, Mr. Sabzar Ahmad (Resource Person CDSL IPF) were the speakers for the webinar. Opening remarks were delivered by the Chief Guest, CA Parmod Mittal (President SSD Sabha Bti) he stated the importance of investment in this dire need of time. Our Guest of Honour Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President SSDGC) commended all the college for their high spirit and continuous efforts of imparting education even during this covid-19 situation to online teaching. Overwhelming response was received from participants of various colleges. More than 100 participants, across the states joined this webinar virtually. The speaker of this webinar, Mr. Harbinder Singh Sokhi, Manager-BSE shared his expert knowledge about the importance of investment in mutual funds , financial planning for the future contingencies and also gave an insight into their investment Mantra which is a save early, regularly and start investing in right asset class by giving the life learning examples. Another Speaker of this webinar Mr. Inderjeet Singh regional head-CDSL enlightend us all about the significance of Demat Account and how to use the Demat Account. This webinar was appreciated by all the participants as it was enriched with great knowledge about the capital market. Mr. Yogesh Kundnani ( Vice-president,CDSL) also joined the session and participated in discussion. Dr. Shaveta (Assistant Professor in Management) conducted the query session. Experts resolved all the doubts. Ms. Neetu Goyal (HOD, Mgt.) presented vote of thanks for the valuable inputs delivered by speakers of this webinar. Ms. Navdeep kaur ( Asst. Prof. in Mgt.) actively coordinated for conducting the webinar. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal,SSDWIT) always emphasized that ,in addition to learning the academic curriculum, students should attempt to learn the latest programming languages which are trending in the IT industry. So under the guidance of principal mam, a two days workshop on “Python” was conducted on 6th & 8th May , 2021for the students of SSDWIT, Bathinda. The main motive for organising this workshop was to get participants up and running with Python in as short a time as possible. The resource person of this workshop was Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar (Head of Computational Science, MRSPTU Bathinda). Mr. Bhatnagar shared information on Python programming language and its scope. He described the students on how to get started with Python and install it, define functions, library files available etc.
This workshop was appreciated by all the students, as they were able to add another programming language in their technical skill set. Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDWIT), Sh. SSDWIT organized Beat Busters on 21st May ,2021. All students took part in this event. The main motive of this event was to energize them as they are missing college enjoyment .Ms. Ekta Garg welcomed Sh. Sanjay Goyal ( President, SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges and Dr. Neeru Garg ( Principal, SSDWIT). Adv Sanjay Goyal addressed the students .
After that Ms. Silky ( Asstt.Prof. in CS) continued the event by inviting Ms.Jaspreet for Shabad recitation. After seeking the blessings of Almighty, event remain continued with mesmerizing events like Dance, Tappe, Experience sharing by students, Solo Song, Boliyan and Bol Radha Bol. Dr. Neeru Garg(Principal) blessed the students in her address and asked them to stay safe and healthy. Ms Vijay Laxmi (Asstt. Prof. in Mgt.) and Dr. Shaveta (Asstt. Prof. in Mgt.) continued the program with ‘Bol Radha Bol’. It has three rounds.i.e. Pehchano To Jaane, Tongue Twisters and Gata Rahe Mera Dil. Students and faculty both participated and enjoyed all the three rounds Although event came to an end but the enjoyment was never ending. Students don’t want to leave this virtual togetherness. Event concluded with Shabad recitation by Bhawna. Dr. Neeru Garg ( Principal) appreciated all the participants and organizers of the event.
An online “Talent Show” was organised on 24th May 2021 by SSD women’s Institute of Technology for the girls students to show up their hidden talent even during the situation of covid-19 pandemic. This Talent Show was organised with the motive to divert the mind of the students from the covid-19 situation and nurture the intrinsic qualities of students. This competition included many categories like Mehndi,Rangoli,Solo Dance, Solo Song, Best Out Of Waste, Movie Clipping, Nail Art, Painting,Cooking and Boliyan. Girls participated in this competition enthusiastically and showcased their talent through videos and photos through online mode. The event was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg. Faculty members welcomed all the participants and introduced the participants of their event through the PPT’s which was prepared by Ms. Navdeep kaur. In between college students shared their experience about the college with participants. The judges had a brainstorming session over the next to next performances to come up to their judgement. Attractive prizes were distributed to all the winners of different events.

One day online Workshop was conducted on 8/6/2021 on Research Methodology. This event was organised under the kind control of Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT). Dr. Pritpal Singh Bhullar (Head of Department) in University Business School, MRSPTU Bathinda was the resource person for this lecture. Ms. Neetu Goyal(HOD Mgt. and Workshop Co-ordinator) welcomed the resource person.He explained research, its types, research problems, different types of scales and applicability of parametric and non-parametric tests. He elucidated Parametric tests(t-test, ANOVA test) with the use of SPSS software. The worthy speaker explained these tests in detail with the help of examples. All the queries were resolved by the speaker. The Principal mam, all the faculty members of management department and computer science department and more than 100 students participated enthusiastically throughout the session. This lecture was successfully organised by technical skill committee incharges. It was a highly interactive session.
Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), NSS and Red Ribbon Club of SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda observed 7th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2021 in college premises. Ms. Manisha Bhatnagar (HOD, Computer Science), NSS Programme Officer Ms. Monika Bansal along with all faculty members participated in the celebration with fervor and enthusiasm. Ms. Nisha Singla, (Yoga Trainer, Art of Living) were invited as a yoga teacher on this day. She explained yoga’s role in achieving oneness among mind, body and intellect. She also emphasized yoga and meditation is not just a set of exercises but also passport to health assurance. All participants were motivated to include yoga and meditation activities in their daily life as it is helpful to relieve stress and physical ailments. Due to the present scenario, all students and NSS volunteers celebrated the day from their home and shared their photos while doing yoga. On this special day, Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President), Sh. Vikas Garg (Secretary) and Dr.Neeru Garg(Principal, SSDWIT) gave their special thanks to Ms. Nisha Singla.

The Government of India is commemorating the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence under which the Department of Youth Welfare is drawing up weekly programs in various zones related to the University. In a series of these programs, in the mid of July, an online competition was conducted for the students of different zones. One of our NSS volunteer, Kriti, participated in this competition and secured 3rd position in Bathinda zone.

The Chief Guest of the event was S. Manpreet Singh Badal( Minister of Finance, Planning and Employment Generation Punjab). Ms.Raman Goyal ( Mayor, Municipal Corporation Bti.), Jaijeet Singh Johal (Senior Congress Leader) ,Sh. Arun Wadhawan ( President, District Congress Committee, Bti.), Sh.Rajan Garg( Chairman District Planning Board), Sh. K.K Aggarwal(Chairman Improvement Trust) and other dignitaries also graced the occasion with their gracious presence. This programme culminated with the recitation of THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.
